The Asian American Club is hosting a spring clothing drive starting March 4 through March 31.
To Mrs. Bin, the Asian American Club is about “creating a welcoming space where students connect, celebrate, and share Asian American cultures.”
“It always makes me happy to see and hear their laugh and smile while they meet as a club,” she said.
The clothing drive was organized so “the items can go to students or families in need,” Bin explains. She wanted “a second chance” for the used clothing, “while supporting the school community and encouraging kindness and generosity” among the younger generation. Eventually, these clothing items will find their way to the school’s Youth Service Center for students and their families who need them.
Clothing donation bins are set up in the Commons before 8:15am for anyone interested in aiding the cause. Please consider making donations and making a positive impact for the school and those in need.
The club doesn’t plan on stopping here, as they are producing new ideas for the future. So far, they hope to potentially host a ping-pong tournament, as well as a hot-pot session later on in the year.
