Lana Del Rey returns with the name of her mysterious album that’s been delayed for over a year. Something people should know about Elizabeth Woolridge Grant (Lana Del Rey), is that she moves with the flow of life, following her heart, and doing things in her own beautiful way. She announced at the Billboard and NMPA Songwriter Awards in January 2024, “The music business is going country, we’re going country. It’s happening.”, then continued to mention her newest album “Lasso” would be released in September 2024. Later on, Lana Del Rey would tease the single “Henry, come on” on her instagram about a melancholic reflection on an emotionally draining relationship that had ended. Unfortunately however, she had some bad news as she was interviewed during the Novello Awards on May 23, 2024. When asked about her new country album, she said “So where is Lasso going?I really have no idea now.” Months passed with no official album release date and her fans “The Lana Cult” reacted with a mixture of patience and disappointment that the album was postponed. But Lana Del Rey has had a history of unexpected announcements and delays that has led many fans to expect the unexpected, particularly with her recent projects.
Then all of a sudden, romance rumors were sparked after seeing Lana Del Rey and Jeremy Dufrene spotted holding hands at Reading & Leeds Festivals and then again at her friend’s wedding. One month later, they officially got married on September 26, 2024 in Des Allemandes, Louisiana by the bayou where her husband works as an alligator tour guide and where they met in March 2019. Fans were emotionally shocked about the unexpected news, but filled with joy to see her finally living happily with the love of her life. While being married and being on tour, Del Rey finally addressed that she changed the album title to “The right person will stay” on November 25, 2024, wanting to make the album Country/Southern Gothic.
Furthermore, releasing the single “Henry, come on” on April 11, 2025 and posting on her instagram story to thank fans about her new single, she stated “ You know it’s not going to come on time, right? like. Should I even tell you that the name changed again? Should I tell you that now, while you’re so happy that you even have a song.” She would then announce and release a new single “Blue Bird” a week later, making fans infatuated with her new singles and waiting to see what was next. She even went as far as to perform unreleased songs live without the album, and then shocked her fans by posting a diss track, “All About Ethel” on her instagram account known as “Honeymoon” on August 13. Del Rey stated that “Ethel Cain hated my instagram post…think it’s cute reenactin’ my Chicago pose”, and replied to her fans that she was disturbed by comments Ethel Cain had made about her appearance. Finally after a year through obstacles and controversies, Lana Del Rey revealed the name of her 10th studio album, “Stove” during an interview with W Magazine and stated its release to be in January of 2026.
