On September 8th, 2025, human remains were found in the trunk of a Tesla registered under the singer/songwriter d4vd.
The Tesla had been parked in Hollywood Hills for a couple of days and had only been towed when a person reported that the vehicle had been abandoned. The vehicle had been impounded by a L.A. impound lot and was later investigated when a foul odor was coming from the trunk. The odor led to the discovery of severely decomposed human remains wrapped in a bag.
The victim was about 5’2 with black wavy hair, wearing a tube top with black leggings, and had a “Shhh…” tattoo on her right index finger. The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a missing California teenager who disappeared when she was 13.
An individual, who claims to be Celeste’s brother, revealed information that links D4vd and Celeste. He claims that they were in a relationship together and even had matching “Shhh” tattoos. D4vd has now paused his Withered world tour and is said to be fully cooperating with authorities since a person of interest has not yet been identified.
As of now, it has not been stated yet whether he will face any charges. Investigators are currently treating this as a homicide case, and the investigation is ongoing.
Those invested in the incident are divided between d4vd being innocent or guilty.
BGHS senior Brooklyn Justice wonders,“If he’s touring, how would he be able to commit a murder where he’s not even close to? He did have multiple cars registered in his name. That’s a big deal to look into.”
The identity of the perpetrator is up to speculation until further information is released.
BGHS senior Alli Ramsey, says “There are also photos and videos of them together and they had matching tattoos that say ‘shhhh’ on their fingers, which was one of the body parts that was found in the car.”
Although d4vd was on tour when Celeste was found in the trunk of his car, she was missing for over a year before her corpse was found. It has also been revealed that the two had previously talked on Discord.
No one has been charged in relation to this incident as the investigation is ongoing.
