Thirsty's Drink Stop is located on 432 E Main Ave in downtown Bowling Green.
Thirsty’s Drink Stop, located in the Princess Theater building on the downtown square, is a new soda shop where you can customize your own drink. Complete with syrup and creamers, it is the ultimate drink store for those with a sweet tooth. The owner, Vance Ruiz, was inspired to start his business by a similar place located in Utah. “It’s a lot more fun, more friendly, something you can have on the go,” Ruiz said.
His focus is to provide alternative drink options through enhanced sodas. Along with drinks, he also has food options such as loaded fries and Cocomo Confections’ cake balls.
BGHS students Katelyn Murph and Iris Togstad say that the drinks “come at reasonable prices in relation to the size of the cup.” They also said that the process of ordering and receiving your drinks is speedy, with an atmosphere that is both welcoming and organized.
The store was set to open with the start of classes at WKU, which ended up going very well. The business has kept up a steady flow of college students along with families, bringing more of the community to the downtown area.
The store is open from 10am-10pm on weekends and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on weekdays, and is closed on Sundays.
